Terms of Use – Schola Ludus
1. Introduction
These Terms of Use govern the use of the web-based application Schola Ludus (hereinafter referred to as the “Service”).
The Service is designed as a support tool for educational and pedagogical work, particularly for lesson planning, didactic reflection, and structuring teaching ideas.
By using the Service, the user confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Use.
2. Service Operators
The educational and content-related aspects of the Service are operated by Česká pedagogická komora, a non-profit educational association based in the Czech Republic.
The technical operation, infrastructure, and software development of the Service are provided by Thowt LLC, a technology company based in the United States of America.
3. Eligible Users
The Service is intended exclusively for adults, in particular:

teachers,

educators,

lecturers,
-
and other professionals working in education.
The Service is not intended for children or students and must not be used directly by pupils or minors.
4. Nature of the Service and AI-Generated Outputs
The Service uses artificial intelligence tools to generate text-based suggestions, structures, and ideas.
The user acknowledges that:

all outputs are generated automatically,
-
outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or contain errors,
-
outputs do not constitute professional, legal, or pedagogical advice,
-
outputs are provided solely as inspiration and supporting material.
Schola Ludus does not replace the professional judgement, expertise, or responsibility of the teacher or educator.
5. User Responsibility
The user bears full responsibility for:

how the outputs of the Service are used,
-
reviewing, verifying, modifying, and adapting generated content,
-
ensuring compliance with applicable laws, curricula, educational frameworks, and internal school regulations.
The Service operators shall not be liable for:

decisions made based on the outputs of the Service,
-
any direct or indirect damages resulting from the use or misuse of generated content,
-
educational, organizational, or legal consequences arising from such use.
6. Personal Data and Sensitive Information
Users agree not to:

enter personal data of students or pupils,
-
enter sensitive personal data as defined by applicable data protection laws (including GDPR),
-
upload confidential or internal school documents.

7. Prohibited Use
Users must not:

use the Service in violation of applicable laws or regulations,
-
use the Service for large-scale automated or abusive content generation,
-
attempt to bypass technical limitations or security measures,

generate content that is unlawful, discriminatory, harmful, or unethical.
8. Availability and Modifications of the Service
The operators reserve the right to:

modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service or any part of it,
-
change its features, scope, or availability at any time.
The Service is provided “as is”, without any guarantee of uninterrupted availability or error-free operation.
9. Intellectual Property
The structure, design, and original content of the Service are protected by intellectual property laws.
Users are permitted to:

use generated outputs for their own educational and pedagogical practice,

modify, adapt, and integrate outputs into their teaching materials.
The Service operators do not claim ownership over content created by users based on AI-generated outputs.
10. Amendments to the Terms
The operators reserve the right to amend these Terms of Use at any time.
The current version of the Terms of Use is always available on the Service website. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Czech Republic, unless mandatory local laws provide otherwise.
